Since he was a child he was strong connected with water. After completing the military service in the Austrian Armed Forces, he studied Islamic Theology at the University of Ankara in Turkey. On June 09 and 10, students, members and supporters of MCI Alumni & Friends came together to celebrate the end of the 2016/17 academic year.This year, too, the MCI Alumni & Friends Club marked the close of an intensive and interesting year of events with its traditional MCI Alumni Weekend, offering an exciting program as the rousing culmination of the academic year.The event began on the Friday with the visit of Maria Höfl-Riesch, a former Germen World Cup alpine ski racer. She is a three-time Olympic champion, two-time world champion, and an overall World Cup champion. After bringing her career in sports to an end, Maria now works as a reputed expert on TV. She has successfully developed her own fitness programs and online portals, designing fitness and fashion collections and working as a popular brand ambassador for renowned companies. At the beginning of 2017, she published her book “Maria macht dich fit”.In the late afternoon Professor Kurt Matzler gave an insight into one of the toughest races on earth: The Race Across America. Kurt Matzler is Professor for strategic management at the Universities of Bozen and Innsbruck and also the academic director of the top-ranked General Management Executive MBA program at the MCI. In June 2016, he participated in the “Race Across America”, with a distance of 4,800 km and an altitude of 52,000 meters, making it one of the toughest races on earth.At the following reception, guests and alumni – especially the MCI jubilee years – had the opportunity to get an insight into the new MCI Campus – a once-in-a-lifetime project.Socializing & Networking was the order of the night: At the MCI Summer Clubbing in the Hofgarten, alumni, students and the MCI team, as well as friends and partners of the MCI gave themselves over to the clubbing sound and a delicious buffet until the early hours.A gorgeous weekend ended under the slogan „meet & celebrate with motivated people“.>>> Invitation{phocagallery view=category|categoryid=1268}

Maria Höfl-Riesch, Top athlete, Olympic champion, EntrepreneurMaria Höfl-Riesch is a former German World Cup alpine ski racer. Before his appointment as Governor, he also acted as a member of the Vorarlberg State Parliament and as Deputy State Governor.Covering an area of 2,600 square kilometers Vorarlberg is the second smallest state of Austria; in many ways, it is however very great or rather tremendous, and a true model for many other states.
